KAETHE BEALER

BIO

Kaethe was born in Germany which influenced the spelling of her name which is pronounced “Kathy.” She was an Army Brat living in several locations in the Midwest and east coast. At the age of 12, Kaethe and her family moved to Hawaii. She was allowed to attend an adult painting class at age 15 where she studied with renowned native Hawaiian artist Joe Dowson. Growing up in Hawaii, Kaethe also admired the work of Pegge Hopper, and the shapes and colors used in Pegge’s work has been influential in Kaethe’s paintings. Since moving to California over 20 years ago, Kaethe began her studies with local artists. While not attending art school, Kaethe has taken studied with Peggi Kroll Roberts, Tim Horn and Stanley Goldstein.

Kaethe has won numerous awards in art league shows and juried shows. She is an Associate with Distinction Member of the American Women Artists, and a member of California Art Club and Oil Painters of America.

Kaethe lives in Emeryville, CA on a 50 foot trawler style boat with her husband Scott and their dog Niko.

STATEMENT

I work in oils and acrylics. Painting a variety of subject matter keeps my mind fully engaged. Art is my life’s journey.
